R-5 School District News & Views By Superintendent of Schools Sarrah Morgan

Lexington R-V was proud to celebrate our veterans! A breakfast was held at LHS on Friday, November 10th, for veterans and their families. An assembly followed in which both LMS and LHS students and staff participated. The ECC held a "clap out" on this day as well. The LBS assembly will be held Tuesday, November 14th.

Thank you to all of the community members and families who came out this weekend to support the LHS musical production of Mean Girls. Our students did an amazing job and all performances were a success!

Our November calendar looks slightly different this year, as adjustments were made based on staff input. There will be NO SCHOOL Monday, November 20th - Friday, November 24th. Staff will participate in professional development on Monday, November 20th and have a work day on Tuesday, November 21st. The District will be closed Wednesday, November 22nd - Friday, November 24th.

Our District will once again participate in

Jeans

 for a

Cause

to support the local effort of the Ministerial Alliance with the Angel Tree program.  Staff members who choose to participate may wear

November 14th - Jan 3rd for a contribution of $30. All of the money collected will be used to purchase gifts for District families in need. Last year we raised $1,460!  Our goal this year is to meet or exceed last year's total.  Money will be collected in each building office to be submitted to the BOE by December 1st, to allow shopping to be completed.
