As we began this week, there were 12 1/2 school days remaining (10 for seniors). The following end of year assessments will be conducted this week:
LBS MAP Testing (3rd/4th Grade) - May 6th - 9th
LMS MAP Testing (8th Grade Math) - May 7th - 10th; Algebra I - May 10th
LHS EOC Testing - Biology May - 7th, Government May - 8th, Algebra II - May 9th - 10th
The Staff Retirement & Recognition Dinner, held last week, was a great evening celebrating extraordinary people. Although we only come together once a year in a large group to honor our dedicated staff, we know that the work that they do is worth recognition each and every day. Thus, building-level celebrations have occurred throughout the year to show appreciation. Official Teacher Appreciation Week is recognized May 6th-10th. ECC and LBS held their daily celebrations April 22nd - 26th. LMS, LHS, and LLRTC have plans to celebrate staff throughout this week and the District will provide a small token of thanks, as will the Board of Education. I was asked numerous times when jeans can be worn for the remainder of the year, so of course that began this week as well. We are grateful for all that our staff does to support our students, families, each other, our buildings, the District, and our Lexington community, We are fortunate to have such amazing professionals!
The time of the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting on May 15th has been moved up to 5:00 PM, to allow both school business completion and attendance at Baccalaureate.
