This week’s staff recognition post goes to Ms. Hunsaker, our counselor at LMS! She has continued to #MakeAnImpact on our kids day in and out! This is Ms. Hunsaker’s SECOND instructor recognition and honestly could get recognized DAILY for her accomplishments. Ms. Hunsaker is all over the school helping students with their needs. This week she pulled individual students who are struggling with grades and gave them tips for how to improve them and study better. She is going the extra mile to help students in all walks of their lives. Ms. Hunsaker’s approach is to help the ENTIRE student and make an #AnswerTheCall for all student needs.

As the 2025-26 School year continues, please reach out to Mr. Schmidt (tschmidt@lexr5.org) and let us know the great things that our staff is doing! We want to recognize the staff members for their hard work and dedication. Leave some positive comments for Ms. Hunsaker below as well!

This week’s staff recognition post goes to Ms. McKenna, our ⅞ social studies teacher at LMS! She has really been making an impact on the students in her classroom! This is our SECOND instructor recognition that is a direct response to a referral from the community. Ms. McKenna has made such an impression on students in her classroom, the referring parent echoed their students' account of social studies this year: “Ms. McKenna teaches the whole time, helps students when they’re struggling, makes learning fun, and doesn’t let kids fall behind.” From this student’s perspective, Ms. McKenna wants everyone to complete their assignments and stay actively engaged in learning.

The students' exact words were, “Mom, she really cares about us and how we do in class.”
She is there for ALL our people! Great job Ms. McKenna!!!

As the 2025-26 School year continues, please reach out to Mr. Schmidt (tschmidt@lexr5.org) and let us know the great things that our staff is doing! We want to recognize the staff members for their hard work and dedication. Leave some positive comments for Ms. McKenna below as well!

Thanks to the Lexington Chamber of Commerce for their donation to LMS at the beginning of the school year. Mr. Schmidt used those funds to abundantly finance purchasing t-shirts for the LMS teachers.

Teachers are the HEART of our schools and the reason why students see and feel the consistency, love and success day after day. We want to take this moment to recognize the great teachers in our building and know that when they put their shirts on...their PRIDE will be felt by all within their proximity.

We LOVE you Lexington!

Thanks to @GloryDaysThreads for your design and delivery to our school today. Community members who purchased from our store may pick up their orders from LMS during normal school hours. Orders that were specific to LMS students were brought home by students today. Many students walked out the door today representing their swag while they create their own personal "Glory Days".

We are aware that there is a gas leak in the Indian Hills subdivision. We have made contact with the bus rider parents that live the area to make arrangements for pick up after school. The city is evacuating the area, please avoid this area along with Stephens and Martin Lane.

LMS has DONE IT!

We wanted to set a record for selling 484 K-8 Fundraiser cards and we are pleased to report...we sold 500+ cards.

This was the greatest fundraiser for through K-8 fundraising in the last 17 years!!!

Mr. Schmidt will be "Principal for the Day" (once his bullhorn shows up from Amazon) and we will look to have a Dance Party during school sometime soon (once a DJ is acquired).

Thanks for your support to the families and Lexington community who bought cards!
