New Educator Spotlight 2026-2027

On May 4th, LMS will have a spirit day! "May the Force be with you for MAP testing". Students are encouraged to dress up in galactic attire but all outfits must follow the dress code, including no weapons and no face coverings.

“Students were recognized for their amazing qualities today. If you know any of these super stars, please congratulate them when you see them. Positive behavior referrals and awards are given by LMS staff to students who are exemplary in the following categories: respectful, responsible, safe, and kind. ❤️💙 It’s a great day to be a Minuteman!”

Each week, LMS recognizes a student from each grade level that #AnswerTheCall like a Minuteman! See the images of the students who were recognized by their teachers during lunch for being great contributors to our Lexington Middle School Community!
Daily efforts may go unnoticed, but not at LMS! Just like the cannonball in the Lafayette County Courthouse, we remember the moments that #MakeAnImpact .
If you recognize one of the students pictured, please reach out to their parents/guardians and congratulate them on this recognition!

This week’s staff recognition post goes to Miss Dyer, our new 7/8 Math teacher at LMS! She has worked hard all week to embody the phrase: #AnswerTheCall ! Miss Dyer completed her student teaching early to join the LMS staff early on this final push of the 25-26 school year. She has been diligent in finding gaps in student learning and applying appropriate strategies to help the students find success on the MAP test as well as life. Miss Dyer can #MakeAnImpact in just days of effort and will continue to be HER into next school year as well! We are ecstatic to have her presence!!!
As the 2025-26 School year continues, please reach out to Mr. Schmidt (tschmidt@lexr5.org) and let us know the great things that our staff is doing! We want to recognize the staff members for their hard work and dedication. Leave some positive comments for Miss Dyer below as well!

Sharing MAP Testing Tips for our Testing Window that begins next week! Information has been sent home for student's specific testing dates. Help us show the state of Missouri that we are the "Most Improved Middle School" in the state!

Good evening LMS Families,
Students who were at school today were given a MAP letter providing information about MAP testing. Please look for that information AND discuss the importance of doing their best on their scheduled days. Each letter contains specific dates for each individual testing.
Testing begins April 28-May 15. We are aware that there was a typo on some of the sheets...if your student has testing dates in Mid April...that is over and their dates should have said MAY instead of April...mid April is over.
There will be a post MAP testing incentive for those who show up prepared, rested, engaged and respectful to their peers.
Let Mr. Schmidt know if you have any questions.

Happy Administrative Professionals Day!

Lexington R-V School District Announces Early Dismissal
The Lexington R-V School District will dismiss early today due to the potential for severe weather later this afternoon.
We are closely monitoring updated forecasts, which indicate an increased likelihood of strong to severe storms moving into our area during the afternoon and evening hours. Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the safety of our students and staff, the district has decided to release students early.
Early dismissal times:
High School: 1:00 PM
Middle School: 1:00 PM
Elementary: 1:15 PM
ECC: 1:15 PM
No Afternoon Lex La Ray classes.
Bus routes will operate according to the adjusted schedule, and students will arrive home earlier than usual. This decision is intended to allow buses and families to travel safely before severe weather arrives.
The National Weather Service has indicated the possibility of large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.
All planned after-school activities have been canceled or postponed. Additional communication will come from coaches and sponsors.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Please reach out to your child's building or the Board of Education with any questions.
